Cross-country skiing

The fields in Rateče are intertwined with beautiful cross-country trails all the way to Planica, Tamar and Kranjska Gora and west to Italy. There is a modern running center in Planica, also with a summer running track.

Planica

Modern Nordic sports center: jumping devices of all sizes with the largest airfield in the world, cross-country polygons (including summer), wind tunnel – flight simulator, the most attractive “ZipLine” taken from the top of the airfield to the landing site, etc.

Skiing, snowboarding, sledding

A 5-minute drive separates you from the beautiful ski resorts in Kranjska Gora and Podkoren. You can also drive to Tarvisio or the high-altitude ski resort of Monte Lussari etc.

Hiking

Rateče is a great starting point for many beautiful walks, mountain hikes and high mountain tours. You can also visit the beautiful climbing ferratas in Gozd Martuljek and Mojstrana.

15 minutes walk to the nature reserve Zelenci – the source of the Sava

You can opt for an extremely pleasant hike to Tromeja, the crossroads of three countries: Slovenia, Italy and Austria.

You can take a nice trip to Vršič past Lake Jasna and the famous Russian Chapel.

Tamar

Tamar – the starting point for many mountain tours and climbing routes. The source of the Nadiža – excellent water, which we drink in Rateče and also in the apartment. There is a pleasant mountain hut and a small chapel.

Cycling

Nicely arranged bike path from Rateče to Kranjska Gora, Gozd Martuljek, Mojstrana to Jesenice, and to the west to Italy and Austria. The cycling route of three countries.
